After receiving teaching licences in Enmei Ryū Heihō and Kokura Han Niten Ichi Ryū, he became the successor of Terao Niten Ichi Ryū and the 21st generation headmaster. He studied Fukuoka Han Niten Ichi Ryū Heihō and Kumamoto Han Niten Ichi Ryū Heihō, the culmination of the sword saint Miyamoto Musashi in his later years, and showed great devotion in following the spirit of Miyamoto Musashi’s school.
In 2002, he was recognized for his contribution to the society by the Imperial Family, and became an honourary Vice President of the Japanese Red Cross Society, and received a gold merit award from Her Imperial Highness Princess Akishinonomiya Kiko.
In September 2014, he was awarded the “Go Rin no Sho”, teaching licence scroll, and became the 21st generation headmaster Terao Clan Niten Ichi Ryū Heihō.
He is currently teaching the next generation of students in Japan to protect Japanese traditional martial arts.
Since his youth, he has undergone strict training in Enmei Ryū Heihō, then honed his skills in Niten Ichi Ryū Heihō, in the spirit of Miyamoto Musashi, and today is the legitimate successor.
